Project III: Chase

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

I decided to shoot a short stop motion video for Project III. The whole thing is composed of a little over 300 pictures out of a set of 900. I teamed up with Marc Rivera for this project to handle the music. You can check out his other stuff right here. This definitely won’t be the last you see from Marc and we’re currently trying to string together another possible short film for class in the next few months.

The short itself is a very simple chase scene. It was inspired from my high school memories of students rushing out of the classroom whenever the bell rang. My original plans revolved around having Bria chase Adam while running through walls, but unfortunately my idea didn’t really translate on camera the way I had hoped it would.

If you haven’t been keeping up, you can check out the Project III previews. Also, make sure to watch the clip in HD!

I don’t feel like writing a title…

Project III is coming out March 17th and is based on conceptual sequencing. I’m handling it differently from my previous work these past two months. I’m not exploring anything new or creative in terms of photography techniques and there is no theme to the project. Also, the whole thing was shot in roughly three hours in a single day (currently my quickest project to date!).

So what should you expect? A lot of bullshitting with friends. In fact, it probably won’t make much sense… but having fun doesn’t need to make sense, right?

But ended up spending a whole afternoon doing studio shots. Ill-planning at its finest *sigh*

Oh, and just for the hell of it, behind the scenes:

On another note, this is Bria. She cuts up jeans, studies design and fashion, and has had a sewing needle pierce through her finger on multiple occasions. You’ll see her again when Project III comes out later this month!
