Last part of the confessions!

Day 250
Offense: Taken with an iPhone

One of the fire dancers performing at Le Souk Harem. I only had my iPhone with me at the time, which really sucks, because everytime I see this picture I think about how awesome it could have been if I had my camera.

Day 275
Offense: Taken with a wide angle lens with flash

Two children at one of the Sweet 16′s I shot over the year. I thought they’re facial expressions were perfect for the scene. Look at them, it’s like they’re caught in a Pandemonium.

Day 307
Offense: Taken by a friend

The back of my head, taken in a parking lot by Tatiana. I can’t remember what parking lot it was, but knowing me, it was most likely Dunkin Donuts.

Day 365
Offense: Taken by a friend

Kristina on New Years Eve. There’s a lot going on in this picture. I see laughing, yelling, chilling, and I’m not too sure but that hand at the side kind of looks like someone’s trying to score some sexual favors. I wish I could say I took this one, but sadly no. It was taken by my friend Karl while I was knocked out on the couch.

Part 2 of my 365 Project Confessions. Part 3 will be up tomorrow!

Day 223
Offense: Taken with an iPhone

I took this photo at the Jones Beach Maroon 5 concert. The venue didn’t allow any cameras so I was forced to used my iPhone for the project.

Day 242
Offense: Taken with a wide angle lens with flash

A great shot of Amanda’s ass! Right after the Assman Launch Party in downtown NYC.

Day 248
Offense: Taken by a friend

Lo took this photo of me smoking down in Brooklyn by the bridge.

Day 249
Offense: Taken with an iPhone

A shot of Lo at Le Souk Harem the day after she took my photo. A left my camera at home for the night so I took this shot with my phone. You can see a second iPhone in the background that I used to light the shot.

365 Project Confessions: Part 1 of 3

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

I promised you guys I’d put this up if I had the chance. There are 12 photos in my 365 Project that didn’t follow my rules (some photos were shot with flash, others weren’t even taken by me!), and I’m going to spend the next three days revealing the details of each photo. I’ll be posting these photos in chronological order, 4 photos at a time. Check back tomorrow for part 2!

Day 68
Offense: Taken by a friend

This photo was shot by my friend Jonathan. If you go through my 365 Project, he’s Day 1 (you’ll see him dancing in front of a car). I found this photo on my camera at the end of the day, and we honestly don’t know what it is. Jonathan thinks it might have happened by accident when he tried to take a picture of a plane outside, but I think he snapped it accidentally while carrying my camera around Best Buy. Hmm… I guess we’ll never know.

Day 158
Offense: Taken with a wide angle lens

This photo was shot with my 17-40mm lens while filming a short film with my friend Carlton. For anyone interested, the film is called Movements, and is viewable here.

Day 161
Offense: Taken by a friend

This photo was taken by my Cherrelle some time before she graduated high school. Just a couple of old liquor bottles lying around my room.

Day 178
Offense: Taken with a wide angle lens

A top view picture I took of Chris, Jessica, and Carlton at Cherrelle’s graduation. We were all running on no sleep in this photo.

From Start to Finish… Confessions and Reflections

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

I’m exhausted. I can honestly say that carrying my camera every day for an entire year was probably the most annoying commitment I’ve ever made. But hey, 2010 is finally over and my 365 Project is officially complete. I’ve been posting weekly updates on the photo series on this blog, but now you can check it out from start to finish in a single gallery, which I posted right above (BTW it’s a big gallery so it might take a while to load, just give it some time).

For the people out there who are unfamiliar with the project, it entails a picture a day, for the entire year. All photos were shot from a standard 50mm field of view using natural lighting only.

Now here’s my 2010 confession, 12 photos broke the rules.

* 4 photos were shot with a wide angle lens (of those four, two were shot with flash)
* 5 photos were shot by 5 different friends
* 3 photos were shot with an iPhone

I may do an update in the near future detailing which 12 photos broke my rules. But in the mean time, check out the gallery here!

365 Project: Week 52

Saturday, January 1st, 2011

52 weeks later, and I’m finally done with my 365 Project! I think I deserve a pat on the back for actually sticking to a new years resolution for the first time!

Getting ready for Christmas with the family.

Kindle 3 and moleskin
The best present I got this year, an Amazon Kindle. I’ve been holding off on buying books for the past 2 months because I had my fingers crossed for one of these things.

Our first blizzard of the year was on the 360th day of 2010.

The girls trying to dig my car out of the snow. We got stuck on our way to pick up some pizza >_<

On our way to Le Souk Harem for Denise’s 22nd birthday!
