For the past few weeks I’ve been filming a bunch of videos for St. John’s various campuses (Manhattan, Queens, Oakdale, Staten Island). Most of it is is pretty typical for what you would expect in a college video. Interview with a professor, random students talking about how much they love campus, things like that. But the lovely people over at the Queens told me I could do pretty much whatever the hell I wanted, so I came up with this promotional piece for the Queens campus’ School of Education.

Sage Bowen took care of the St. John’s crest for us and Marc Rivera handled the music.

I decided to shoot a short stop motion video for Project III. The whole thing is composed of a little over 300 pictures out of a set of 900. I teamed up with Marc Rivera for this project to handle the music. You can check out his other stuff right here. This definitely won’t be the last you see from Marc and we’re currently trying to string together another possible short film for class in the next few months.

The short itself is a very simple chase scene. It was inspired from my high school memories of students rushing out of the classroom whenever the bell rang. My original plans revolved around having Bria chase Adam while running through walls, but unfortunately my idea didn’t really translate on camera the way I had hoped it would.

Here’s a quick short I shot for my friends to help promote an event they’re running in town. This isn’t the actual promotion video, rather its a separate copy I made for myself that I tailored to be more appropriate for my portfolio. The second video I made for them (created from the same exact clips) is floating around on Facebook somewhere.

I had so much fun with my last stop motion film that I had to put together one last film before the Summer ended. If you like this one, be sure to check out the first short, Movements.

Well I’m running a week ahead of schedule. Check out my latest little experiment, “Movements.” It’s a stop motion short film shot with my Canon 5D Mark II and a 17-40mm f/4L wide angle lens. I think the whole video is made up of 654 individual photos.

I had a hell of a lot of fun putting this together with my friends, so enjoy!
