Hi my name is Francis.

I'm just a college student trying to remember what this life is like through photographs.

365 Project: Week 8

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Just another case of a love struck heart.

Jalena at the Taj Lounge. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, sporting what looks like a modern Indian inspired design.

It’s taken over 2 years, but my friend Sage finally finished painting his bedroom. I remember walking to his house in the summer because I couldn’t even drive yet and watching him tape the edges of his room with painter’s tape. Fast forward to now, and it’s turned into one of the most intricately designed paint jobs I have ever seen.

I got rid of the bed in my room and replaced it with a leather futon about a year ago so I could have bed/couch in my room. Comfort-wise I’m quite pleased with my decision. But damn do I miss being able to jump on my bed.

Just a couple of eskimos!

Everytime I go to Applebee’s I tell myself I’m not going back, yet somehow I always end up there ordering the same thing… spinach dip.

Ashley with Hunter boots and matching socks, ready for the snow storm.

02.20.10 Photo Shoot

Here are some photos of Jalena from the Taj Lounge in Downtown Manhattan. The photos were taken for her Sweet 16 invitations.

365 Project: Week 7

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

After a long hiatus, I finally got off my ass and finished painting my room. The only thing left to do was the ceiling, but I’ve been so lazy to cover up my furniture and run the risk of dripping black paint on my carpet that I sort of just pushed my painting aside for about half a year.

Carlton doing what he does best, hiding from the camera! We went out to dinner for Jessica and Tatiana’s 19th birthday.

Happy Valentine’s Day from Coldstones!

A pretty interesting wall from a Thai restaurant I went to for dinner. I was looking forward to trying frog for the first time but the restaurant ran out. I guess frog is a lot more popular than I thought.

Bare light bulbs. After painting my room, I graciously decided to paint my parent’s guest room. Unlike my own bedroom which I did in ridiculous daily eight hour shifts, I’m taking my time on the guestroom, focusing each day on a different step (first coat, second coat, trim, etc). This is day one: prep work.

A sneak peak from Peril’s photo shoot.

Oh… hi, I see you =]

Peril

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

I had the chance to work with the musician Peril during my last shoot. We put together a little introduction video for him below. Check him out and his music at his website at www.periltheantagonist.com and www.myspace.com/khyremusic. Pics should be up in the next couple of days. Watch out for them!

100 Paper Planes

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

So a couple of weeks back I saw a picture at an art gallery of a girl playing with paper planes. We’re talking massive amounts here, like 20-30 planes flying around the room. It was then that I got my idea, I’m going to make 100 paper planes, and then I’m going to give it away as a gift. It’s the perfect combination of thoughtful time spent on someone (3+ hours) and complete uselessness. Shit, if I got a gift of 100 paper planes I wouldn’t know whether to be flattered or annoyed.

365 Project: Week 6

Nikki showing off her tagged arms at the local pizza shop.

A crowd of people at Brooklyn’s Loom Party trying to make their way to the dance floor.

These are the two necklaces I keep hung by my rearview mirror. The heart belongs to my Cherrelle; I took it from her in the 11th grade and conveniently forgot to return it. As for the white elephant, it is symbol of wisdom and is the “brother” to a similar necklace that is hung in my other friend’s car. We named both elephants Timothy and Gulliver.

Bianca peering through a Corona at Boulder’s Creek. Me, Sage, and Bianca went out looking for a quick late night, cheap snack and somehow ended up at an actual restaurant instead. It’s things like this that kill my bank account.

The Akatsuki cloud. Any Naruto fans out there?

New York’s first blizzard for 2010. It effectively closed down schools for 2 days. I had to walk a mile through the snow to take this picture after I realized that my car was completely buried.

Jonathan in the Sam Ash parking lot. We were looking for a high quality microphone for Jonathan’s next big project. Aside from that, I spent a lot of time browsing through guitars and violins. I use to play the violin back in high school and I’ve been meaning to get back into music. Although, every time I tell myself that I end up pushing the idea aside and forgetting about it for a month or so. Oh well, maybe during the summer I can finally put some work into it.

The Loom Party

Monday, February 8th, 2010

All I wanted was a party, but the Loom turned out to be so much more. Saturday night marked the opening of a month long art exhibition at Brooklyn’s Loom. The event was filled with free drinks, multiple rooms dedicated to art galleries and presentations, live musical performances, and a full dance floor.
