Hi my name is Francis.

Last Photo Shoot of 2009

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Yikes, I woke up today and to my surprise there was snow everywhere! I’ve wanted to do a photo shoot in snow for a while now, but the opportunity never arose; so when I looked outside my window and saw the grown covered in snow I immediately went about contacting all my friends trying to find a last minute model. This actually didn’t run as smooth as I had planned, and I ended up being shut down by everyone I contacted whom I proposed a “bikini snow photo shoot” idea too. My friends just aren’t fun enough!

Luckily for me, Amanda came to the rescue, and after a one hour rushed job of running around town collecting winter accessories, crying over my flash dying on me, and picking up some hot chocolate, I managed to complete my quickest, and last shoot for 2009!

Here are some behind the scenes shots of Amanda showing off her immunity to the cold and my bruised up arm after taking a nasty fall on the ice.

A New Year’s Resolution; Back to Basics

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

My resolution for 2010 is pretty simple and inspired by Flickr.com; one picture, with a 50mm lens, every day. This also means I’ll have to carry my camera with me every day. My ultimate goal is to help rekindle a little creativity in my mind and force myself to update this blog more often. I even went out and bought a new lens for this project; a Canon EF 50 1.4. I’ll be updating this blog weekly with 7 new photos from this project starting January, so check back for it!

In the mean time, here are some random shots from first two weeks of my holiday vacation from school.

These are my new boots! Next to my camera lens this is my favorite Christmas purchase. They’re completely rubber and look absolutely ridiculous when worn in any weather except rain, but I love them anyway!

Snowed In…

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

The team is finally back after finishing our first semesters in college and Elmont decided to welcome us with the first blizzard of the season. Close friends, gingerale, rice cakes, and my pink holiday socks.

I think its safe to assume my college tuition went towards funding St. John’s holiday celebration.
